Kid's Bags

The Correctional Peace Officers Foundation holds an annual gathering for correctional officers and families called project 2000. The Kid's Bags are for the children of those correctional officers who have been slain or seriously injured.

The United States Deputy Wardens' Association has had the privilege for 21 years to donate bags, "Kid's Bags", filled with goodies. Some of the goodie items are pictured, ranging from headphones, electronics, 2-way radios, to beach towels and hot wheels. These items will never replace the child's parent, but hopefully the child will know how much they are loved by the friends and family still with them.

The USDWA donates the "Kid's Bags" to the Correctional Pease Officer's Foundation at Project 2000 each year. Project 2000 is a yearly conference in honor of fallen officers.

Each "Kids Bag" costs app. $200 once filled with everything. Individuals and businesses may sponsor one or more bags with a contribution of $200 for each bag. Donations are noted on each bag with a tag stating the sponsor's name. Departments are encouraged to hold a fund raiser special event and sponsor at least one Kid's Bag for next year's memorial.
